Shah (Shahnawaz) Aziz, CTO & Founder

Shah Aziz is the founder of Diwan Technology Partners and serves as Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Aziz has over 15 years experience in the areas of business vocabulary and ontology, workflow design and integration, business rule extraction and organization, data requirements analysis, business rule engine development, data mining and business intelligence, and enterprise architecture.

Beginning in January 2001, Mr. Aziz formed Diwan as a consultancy for the development and delivery of a rules engine for the real-time Sales Program Interface for American Honda Finance Corporation, where he served as architect and developer. Following the success of that project, Diwan has been engaged full-time in key projects for major financial institutions, including the delivery of rules-based mission-critical applications for Option One Mortgage Corporation, Nationwide Lending, Mandalay Mortgage, CLC-Home Loans and Accenture. He has also provided technical development and architecture services for the Orange County Probation Department, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, Abbott Vascular and other clients.

Having been the principal architect and developer of Rules Engines and Complex Event Processing (CEP) solutions for large enterprises, Mr. Aziz is now focusing his day-to-day attention on growing Diwan by targeting mid-market companies, where rules-based and knowledge-based systems can have a major strategic impact on business performance and competitive advantage. Mr. Aziz holds degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of California, Irvine, and Orange Coast College. He is a U.S. citizen, and he and his family reside in the Los Angeles area.

Terry A. Hull, Vice President of Business Development

In a career of over 25 years, Terry Hull has held key executive positions and consulted with small to large corporations in industries as diverse as aerospace and security, education and entertainment. Focusing on strategic planning and business development, and on a wide range of international business issues such as corporate structure, equity funding, technology productization, and revenue capture, Mr. Hull has successfully facilitated new product introductions and revenue turnarounds, built go-to-market teams, established key industry partners, closed reference sales, and acquired equity funding. His corporate references include Electronics For Imaging (product launch for IPO rampup), International Thomson Publishing (new revenue streams and channels), Waterloo Maple Software (worldwide revenue turnaround), Computational Technologies (startup funding and reference sales), TCI Software Research (strategic sales planning), and BNC (strategic planning and implementation, Mexico). Mr. Hull’s business development relationships have included Aerospace Corporation, Boeing, SAIC, Lockheed-Martin, GE, and Apple; government agencies including NASA, JPL, the U.S. Navy, the Federal Reserve, DOE, and various secure laboratories; higher education institutions, including the Naval Postgraduate School and Johns Hopkins; and technology vendors, including IBM, Microsoft, Sybase, Sun, AutoDesk, iLOG, and others.

Mr. Hull earned his B.A. from Ohio State University, resides in Carmel, California, and is a US citizen.
